Hello, I'm the potter behind Cove & Clay.

Every piece starts with me and a lump of clay — some find their shape on the wheel, others are pressed by hand. There are no shortcuts and no assembly line... just me, my tools, hours of glazing and a very patient kiln. I believe beautiful things are made to be used every single day, not saved for special occasions.

My studio is tucked in the suburbs just outside Chicago, and I ship worldwide. I love picturing my pottery out in the world — on tables full of food and laughter, quiet mornings with coffee, and all the little moments in between. -D

Life at The Cove

Inspired by Wild & Quiet Places

From earth to your table

A little clay, a spinning wheel, and a very determined kiln...

something beautiful shows up.

How it works

Wedge & Throw

Stoneware clay is wedged by hand to remove air, then centered on the wheel and pulled into form.

Dry & Trim

Each piece air dries slowly, then is trimmed and refined. Handles are attached and any surface texture is carved.

Bisque Fire

Pieces are loaded into the kiln and bisque fired to harden the clay before glazing begins.

Glaze & Fire

Each piece is hand-dipped or brushed with glaze, then fired to 2300°F where the magic happens.
